Join OpenDoorClimate’s upcoming Climate Job Networking Basics workshop, designed to help you overcome the obstacles standing in your way. We’ll focus on practical strategies, from determining your unique networking approach to turning a casual coffee chat into a lasting relationship.
Is this workshop for you? This workshop is best for those early in their climate career journey or looking for a refresher of basic networking tactics. It may not be as relevant for those further in their job search or networking experts.
What we’ll cover
Part 1: 2-Hour Learning Session (May 16)
We’ll focus on practical actions for networking and relationship building for a climate job:
Getting your virtual self ready
Determining your personal networking strategy
Finding the right people to connect
Sending that first message
Making the most of conversations
As well as discuss ways to overcome other climate job barriers around skills and experience:
Map your skills and understand where to upskill
Find ways to gain experience before having a full-time climate job
Part 2: 1-Hour Peer Exchange (4 weeks later)
After applying these strategies, we’ll meet again to share what’s working, troubleshoot where you're still stuck, and learn from each other.
